Twelve pillars

pattern.gif

The following is a brain dump I jotted down in the notebook two nights ago. It’s about choice and preference.

Movement before direction

Perpetual before permanent

Friends before lovers

Sarcasm before joking

ADHD before sociopathy

Mercy before pity

Spirituality before religion

Sheldrake before Dawkins

Attitude before achievement

Leadership before management

Intuition before knowledge

Imaginary before objective

The form I have paraphrased from Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

Urrgh, sorry it took so long to react.
    Been arschbookin’ manically lately.
I suppose You have been reading “Black swans”?
Most promising writer, though a little
besserwisserisch to my taste (But, on the other hand, so would be I.) Wish i could summ things up like You and Sei.
Patience and courage with thee, Angry* Young** Man***.

    ** well, sort of.

continue on the back of your computer if not enough space.)

Thanks for the flattering reference to the Pillow Book. The list is by no means complete. It was pretentiously* titled “twelve pillars” just because of TE Lawrence***.
Yes, I listened** to the Black Swan audiobook last autumn. I also have a hardcopy but I left it to Makke.

Didn’t know there’s an audiobook version.
Finnish translation should already be available.

Ok, so it is out now. I talked to the Terra Cognita guy last autumn at the Book Fair but he was more interested in getting books sold than black swans…

So much about mapping the new line of knowledge,
it’s bourgoisie that rulez… anyway, selling book enables them to pay bills… >;E
A funny thought just popped in: Could it be, that everything that r e a l l y matters
has already been figured out, but nobody has the guts to assemble the puzzle to make it legible?
(Know already: not my cup of grappa either)
I must be getting ill; wondering on such things.
